Young Shire Council is the local water utility (LWU) responsible for the supply of safe drinking water and the provision of sewerage services to the township of Young. Bulk water is purchased from Goldenfields Water County Council before being reticulated to the customers of Young. Council’s sewerage reticulation collects all the liquid waste and transports to the new sewage treatment plant for treatment and disposal. A percentage of the treated water is then recycled and further treated to a standard where it can be used for irrigation of sporting fields.

Further information about Council’s water supply and sewerage system can be found on the followings tabs.
