Young hosts the National Cherry Festival on the first full weekend of December with this years event taking place from the 4th to 6th December 2015 and is celebrating its 66th year. The event is traditionally at the height of the cherry picking season. This iconic regional produce event showcases the humble Cherry which has been part of the landscape around Young for over 150 years.
Key events include Cherry Pie eating contest, Cherry Pip Spit, Cherry Festival Street Parade and Markets. More information about the event can be found here.
The 2016 Lambing Flat Chinese Festival will be held on Saturday 19th March. This festival marks Young's gold rush history and the important contribution of the Chinese in the development of Australia.
